Who am I?

Patryk Kubiczek

Physicist

I got BSc and MSc in Physics. Afterwards I worked as a research assistant at the University of Hamburg modelling non-equilibrium dynamics of complex quantum systems. My research has always been focused on developing high-performance computer codes. For that purpose, I had to learn a lot of programming on my own. I consider myself to be an effective self-teacher. As a believer in the social responsibility of academic research, I support Open Science practices.

Climate activist

I am concerned about the climate crisis and threats it poses to humanity. I believe each of us in every profession needs to advocate for change and change something in our own lives. I co-founded Climate Hub Hamburg, which drives climate action through educational expert talks and community building. I am interested in Sustainability Science, which searches for strategies of environmental stewardship guaranteeing a balanced coexistence of human society and nature looking from systems perspective.

Data scientist

As a trained physicist I know how to gather and critically analyse data. I enjoy learning about the unprecedented possibilities modern data science tools offer to support researchers, decision-makers, companies and individuals. At the same time, I want to contribute to a future where only a meaningful and socially responsible use of those innovative tools is made.
